Honda Pilot Gets Several Special Lease Offers This February

The 2026 Honda Pilot in a Nutshell

With the success of the Acura MDX, it only made sense for Honda to maximize the platform that it and the Honda Odyssey used back then. The result was the addition of a third model that had the same underpinnings in the form of the Pilot. Launched in 2002 for the 2003 model year, it’s the brand’s entry in the competitive midsize crossover segment, and has been a success ever since.

Four generations of the Pilot have since passed, and right at its 20th anniversary, Honda unveiled the latest generation in 2023. It then received a major facelift in 2025 for the 2026 model year. It received a fresher look, interior updates, and improvements to its advanced driver assists.

2026 Honda Pilot Highlights

With seven trims to choose from, there’s a Pilot for every want, need, and budget, with prices ranging from $42,195 to $54,995. The trims for this midsize crossover are Sport, EX-L, Trailsport, Touring, Touring Blackout, Elite, and Black Edition. All come standard with Honda Sensing advanced driver assists, heated front seats, power tailgate, terrain modes, and Google built-in.

EX-L adds leather, parking sensors, CabinTalk, wireless charging, while the Trailsport gains off-road goodies such as raised suspension, all-terrain tires, skid plates, plus a 360-degree camera, and more.

Move up to the Touring, and it comes with Bose audio, panoramic sunroof, and a hands-free tailgate, and the Touring Black blacks out the chrome bits and gets unique wheels. The Elite gets more conveniences such as a head-up display, rain-sensing wipers, heated and ventilated front seats, and rear seat heaters. Lastly, the Black Edition is essentially the Elite with gloss black trims in place of chrome.

All Pilots use a 3.5-liter V6 engine. It’s a bit of a rare kind of engine these days, as it’s unassisted by turbos or a hybrid system. The relatively simple engine produces 285 hp and 262 lb-ft of torque. Sport and EX-L are 2WD with AWD available, while Trailsport models and up get AWD standard.

Final Thoughts

The Pilot can be described as pure sense on wheels, and it’s immensely practical in every measure. It rides great, too, and it’s one of the more comfortable midsize SUVs to drive out there. But what’s surprising here is its off-road capability, mainly thanks to its clever VTM-4 system. Sure, it won’t challenge Jeeps at the Moab, but for what it is, it might pull out a few surprises.
