Overview

The 2027 Honda Accord midsize sedan returns for another model year and celebrates its 50th year in the U.S. in 2026. It’s been an enduringly popular sedan here, despite the rise of the SUV, and Honda still sells around 150,000 of them per year. The current generation is one of the biggest midsize sedans, with a spacious cabin, all the expected tech and comfort features, and surprisingly dynamic handling. Two powertrains are offered: a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 192 horsepower and a 204-hp hybrid using a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter engine.

What’s New for 2027

The 2027 Accord carries over from 2026 with no changes, but a very small price increase is expected, though the starting price should remain below $30K.

Exterior

The Accord looks sleek and modern, with slim LED headlights, a squat stance, a fastback-style roofline, and traces of the first-gen Audi A7 in the rear. It generally looks more premium than its station suggests, with tasteful chrome accents and a contemporary shape. The LX and EX-L have 17-inch wheels, but the rest get 19-inch wheels (black on the Touring Hybrid). Its substantial footprint, with a length of over 195 inches, makes for a roomy cabin.

Interior

High-quality materials dominate the cabin, though some harder plastics are used lower down. The LX gets cloth and regular AC; from SE, heated front seats, a power driver’s seat, and dual-zone climate control are added. The top trims come with more features, such as leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, and heated rear seats. Interior space is excellent for a midsize sedan, even in the rear seat.

A 10.2-inch digital gauge cluster is standard, and the LX/SE trims get a 9.0-inch touchscreen with either four or six speakers, as well as Wi-Fi, a wireless charging pad, and wireless smartphone integration. All the other trims get a 12.3-inch touchscreen with Alexa Built-In. The Touring Hybrid runs a Google-based system with a head-up display, HD Radio, and 12-speaker Bose audio.

Price Range and Best Value Trim

The 2027 Honda Accord’s price has not been confirmed, but our estimates below reflect a tiny increase over last year:

Trim

MSRP before destination

Base trim

LX

~$28,805

Top trim

Touring Hybrid

~$39,995

Best value trim

EX-L Hybrid

~$35,495

The EX-L Hybrid is the best value, adding the frugal and punchy hybrid powertrain, the big touchscreen, leather upholstery, and a good number of standard features.

2027 Honda Accord Specs Overview

The Accord comes with either a 1.5L turbo-four or a naturally aspirated 2.0L Hybrid. The Hybrid works like a range-extender EV most of the time, with the front wheels being driven by the electric motor, but the engine is geared to the wheels at highway speeds. Gear changes are simulated to make it feel like a regular gas car.

Performance and 0-60 MPH

The gas Accord with its 1.5L turbo-four is spritely enough, reaching 60 MPH in about 7.3 to 7.9 seconds, depending on the as-tested weight. The Hybrid is quicker, smoother, and more effortless, with a time of around 6.6 to 7.0 seconds, and it merges and overtakes more briskly.

Fuel Economy (MPG)

The EPA has not released 2027 figures, but fuel economy for the unchanged 2027 Accord should be the same as last year, which is to say 29/37/32 MPG city/highway/combined for the gas Accord and 51/44/48 MPG for the Hybrid EX-L (or 46/41/44 MPG for the hybrids on 19-inch wheels).

Dimensions

The Accord stretches the definition of a midsize sedan with its near-full-size dimensions:

Measurement

Length

195.7 in

Width

73.3 in

Height

Wheelbase

Interior Space (Front and Rear)

Cabin space is very generous for a midsizer:

Front legroom

Rear legroom

Cargo Space

At 16.7 cu-ft, all Accords’ trunk space is the same, and the hybrid hardware does not affect the available volume. The 60/40-split rear seat folds down to further expand cargo volume.

Ground Clearance

The Accord sits just 5.3 inches off the ground, so it’s strictly meant for good paved roads and the occasional good gravel surface, but nothing more.

Honda’s warranty coverage is average and includes limited complimentary maintenance.

Pros and Cons

Pros:

  • Excellent hybrid gas mileage
  • Spacious, quality cabin
  • Strong and frugal powertrains
  • Engaging driving experience
  • Many standard safety features

Cons:

  • CVT in 1,5T models robs sportiness
  • Rear visibility somewhat compromised
  • Some hard cabin plastics remain

Verdict

The Accord may be unchanged for MY2027, but it’s still a class act among midsize sedans, even now that the latest Camry is here. It drives exceptionally well, with torquey powertrains, a quick and frugal hybrid option, and engaging dynamics. Cabin and trunk space are also at the top of the class, and the EX-L brings all these qualities together in a high-value package that will satisfy most buyers. Unfortunately, AWD is still lacking, and if you need optimal winter traction, the Camry still has a leg up on the Accord.
