After 40 years, duPont REGISTRY’s cover cars capture moments in automotive history.
This year, duPont REGISTRY, the source for supercars since 1985, is celebrating its 40th anniversary. In that time, some of the world’s most desirable, iconic, and influential luxury and exotic cars have graced the cover of our magazine over the past 40 years, and together, the cover cars of duPont REGISTRY’s hundreds of monthly issues tell a story of automotive history and its evolution since the ‘80s.
Looking back at duPont REGISTRY’s cover cars from the year 2016, some serious nostalgia is stirred up for any automotive enthusiast, and each year, a cover car shows an iconic moment of the recent past, when a car we see as a modern or future classic today was the hottest new creation on the market. January – Bugatti Veyron L’Or Blanc
A bespoke Bugatti Veyron made with lines in its design to resemble a stunning reflection, the “L’Or Blanc” has gone on to inspire Chiron configurations, and it was our January 2016 cover star.
February – Porsche 911 GT3 RS
The 991-generation Porsche 911 GT3 RS was our February 2016 cover star.
March – McLaren 570S
The McLaren 570S, one of many in its growing lineage of lightweight, powerful supercars, was our March 2016 cover star.
April – Ford GT40, Ford GT, Ford GT
Three generations of the Ford GT were represented on our April 2016 cover, with the V6-powered Ford GT being new to the market.
May – Lamborghini Centenario
The stunning few-off Lamborghini Centenario was our cover star for May 2016.
June – Bugatti Chiron
A new chapter of Bugatti had opened in June 2016, and to ring it in, the Chiron was our cover star.
July – Ford Mustang Roush Stage 3
The Ford Mustang with Roush’s Stage 3 upgrades served as the cover star for July 2016.
August – BRABUS Mercedes-Benz G 65 AMG, BRABUS Mercedes-Benz S 63 AMG Cabriolet
Two BRABUS icons graced our August 2016 cover: a Mercedes-Benz G 65 AMG, and a Mercedes-Benz S 63 AMG Cabriolet.
September – Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta
The open-top Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta, made as part of Ferrari’s 70th anniversary celebrations, was the cover star of our September 2016 issue.
October – Ferrari Enzo
The Ferrari Enzo, a lasting legend, was the cover star of our watch guide issue in October 2016.
November – Maserati GranCabrio MC Stradale Centennial Edition
The special open-top Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale Centennial Edition was the November 2016 cover star of duPont REGISTRY.
December – Porsche 911 TechArt GTStreet R
The TECHART Porsche 911 GTStreetR was the cover star of our December 2016 issue.
